Moving Through the School
Tautoru
In the transition class of Tautoru, children are provided with the opportunity to work at their own pace on early literacy and numeracy skills. The emphasis is on settling into life at school, making friends and developing confidence.
As children move through Tautoru, into Year 1 and 2, they are developing greater independence. They help to plan the class programme and are able to describe what they have been learning. Children are supported to set their own learning goals and encouraged to become increasingly independent.

Autahi
By the time children are in Autahi, Years 3 and 4, they have greater choice to follow their own learning paths. They are able to confidently explain their progress and they have significant input into class activities.
Mahutonga
In Mahutonga, Years 5-6, children are very confident with their place in the school and have developed close friendships. These years provide a wonderful opportunity for them to explore and take greater risks with their learning as they move towards intermediate.
